Song Writing

Around the same time that I began writing my first book (January 14, 2009) I also began writing some songs. At the time, I thought they were very good, but when I looked back at them a few months ago, I wasn’t as pleased. I did some revising and felt a lot better about them. Originally, there were nine songs in my “album”. Revising them led me to write a tenth that I really like. Ironically, this tenth song fit in with the plot I was/am developing throughout my novels. So naturally I had to incorporate the song into my novels.

I was very pleased when I found a perfect way to introduce the song into my second novel. The scene is riddled with humor and irony as well as a bit of foreshadowing. I love it! I won’t share that song with you quite yet, but I will share one of my other songs:
